I had the station from 1967 to 1974. Gas at that time was 29.9/10 & 39.9/10 for Sky Chief full service. We hand washed cars for $2.00 including a vacuum out. Tire repair was $3.00. It was a neighborhood station in a influential neighborhood.  We did tune-ups, starter and generator rebuilding. Brakes and exhaust work. At this time our hourly labor was $25.00. Kerosene was 25 cents a gallon, and bulk oil was 45 cents a quart. Can Drain  oil was 15 cents. This is where we drained off the oil cans into a quart glass jar. Of course it was a simpler time. The hired help were paid $2.00 per hour.
